LASIK Coverage For VSP Insurance

Laser Eye Institute participates with VSP (Vision Service Plan) as a preferred LASIK provider. This guide provides details to understand and maximize your benefit when considering LASIK, SMILE, or PRK laser vision correction.

Coverage Details (2025)

VSP offers two benefit options for patients considering laser vision correction. Your specific benefit will vary depending on which of the benefits your employer has selected to include in your plan.

• Laser VisionCare Program: A pre-negotiated rate with Laser Eye Institute. Members recieve 15% off our standard rate for LASIK, SMILE, or PRK; or 5% off our lowest advertised price. This ensures the member recieves the lowest possible pricing across all laser vision correction procedures.
• Laser VisionCare Preferred Program: An allowance amount, that can range from $500 – $2,000 to use towards any vision correction (LASIK, SMILE, or PRK). This amount can be per-eye; or a total allowance. This benefit is permitted once-per-lifetime.

Who is Eligible

VSP (Vision Service Plan) is one of the largest providers of vision insurance. It is often bundled with Aetna, Cigna, or United Healthcare medical insurance plans. Additionally, you may purchase vision insurance directly or as an add-on through your employer.

How To Use My Benefit

Simply present your VSP digital member card or member information during your consultation to receive benefit. You may contact member services at 1-800-877-7195 if you do not have your member information, or we may locate it using the last four digits of your social security number and date of birth. Your vision insurance member ID will be different than your medical insurance member ID.

When completing your patient registration please indicate you have VSP as your vision insurance plan.
