VISX (a subsidiary of Abbot Medical Optics) is considered a leader in the field of laser vision correction. More procedures are performed on the VISX laser then any other laser in the world.
The VISX STAR S4 IR represents the latest generation of VISX safety and technology. Key safety features include Iris Registration, the first FDA approved fully automated, non-contact method of alignment of the CustomVue laser treatment to the eye; as well as ActiveTrack, 3-D eye tracking to ensure safe operation.
The STAR S4 IR is the only laser to offer CustomVue Wavefront guided LASIK. CustomVue LASIK technology delivers superior results when compared to LASIK by allowing Dr. Haddad to customize a treatment plan for each individual eye using a WaveFront analyzer.
Dr. Haddad only uses the VISX STAR S4 IR laser for all of his laser vision correction procedures to ensure the best possible results. Additionally, Dr. Haddad has done studies to improve the quality and accuracy of the ActiveTrack 3-D tracker, and holds numerous patents on Iris Alignment technology. In 2010 Dr. Haddad presented a course to fellow LASIK surgeons at the ASCRS (American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons) on how to improve their results using CustomVue technology with the VISX STAR S4 IR.
