Before My Procedure
The first step in vision correction is a complimentary consultation. During this consultation its okay to wear your contacts or glasses. The consultation takes approximately 2 hours, during which you will have some tests done and meet with Dr. Haddad. He will review the tests and determine if you are a candidate for vision correction and recommend the best course of treatment.
The next step is our pre-testing or work-up exam. This appointment typically takes 2-3 hours. If you are a contact lens wearer your contacts should be out for about 2 weeks prior to this appointment. Additional tests are performed to allow Dr. Haddad to create a treatment custom tailored to your eyes. Your eyes will also be dilated during this exam, so its recommended to bring sunglasses with you (or we can provide them) as you will be sensitive to light.
During My Procedure
On the day of your procedure upon arriving to our office (all of our procedures are done at our on site laser suite)
you will be given an oral sedation (valium) to help you relax. The clinical team will prep you for the procedure,
and then you will head under the laser. The treatment takes just a few minutes after Dr. Haddad preps the eyes. The last step is the pre-op room where Dr. Haddad will take a final look and review your post-op instructions.
The entire procedure takes about 1-2 hours, and you will need someone to drive you home due to the valium. We offer complimentary snacks, beverages, and movies to entertain your driver. They may even watch your procedure on a monitor in our post-op room.
After My Procedure
The night of your procedure it is recommended to just relax and rest your eyes as much as possible. The next day you will be seen for a post op visit, which you may drive yourself to, and typically take less then 30 minutes. Dr. Haddad will follow up with you after your procedure to ensure the eye heals properly as needed.
All of our laser vision correction procedures include two years of post-op care as well as two years of complimentary enhancements for CustomVue LASIK or LASEK procedures.
